Membership Program

Terms & Conditions

Trans Aero Ltd., dba Trans Aero MedEvac is an Air Ambulance Service provider. Membership ensures the patient will have no out-of-pocket flight expenses if flown by Trans Aero MedEvac by providing prepaid protection against Trans Aero MedEvac’s air ambulance costs that are not covered by a member’s insurance or other benefits or third-party responsibility, subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. Patient transport will be to the closest appropriate medical facility for medical conditions that are deemed by Trans Aero MedEvac attending medical professionals to be life- or limb-threatening, or that could lead to permanent disability, and which require emergency air ambulance transport. A patient’s medical condition, not membership status, will dictate whether or not air transportation is appropriate and required. Under all circumstances, a Trans Aero MedEvac Provider retains the sole right and responsibility to determine whether or not a patient is flown.

2. Trans Aero MedEvac Provider air ambulance services may not be available when requested due to factors beyond its control, such as use of the appropriate aircraft by another patient or other circumstances governed by operational requirements or restrictions including, but not limited to, equipment manufacturer limitations, patient condition, age or size, or weather conditions. FAA restrictions prohibit Trans Aero MedEvac aircraft from flying in inclement weather conditions. The primary determinant of whether to accept a flight is always the safety of the patient and medical flight crews. Emergent ground ambulance transport of a member cannot be provided by Trans Aero MedEvac and therefore will not be covered under the terms and conditions of the membership.

3. Members who have insurance or other benefits, or third-party responsibility claims, that cover the cost of air ambulance services are financially liable for the cost of Trans Aero MedEvac services up to the limit of any such available coverage. In return for payment of the membership fee, Trans Aero MedEvac will consider its air ambulance costs that are not covered by any insurance, benefits or third-party responsibility available to the member to have been fully prepaid. Trans Aero MedEvac reserves the right to bill directly any appropriate insurance, benefits provider, or third party for services rendered, and members authorize their insurers, benefits providers and responsible third parties to pay any covered amounts directly to Trans Aero MedEvac. Furthermore, Members agree to remit to Trans Aero MedEvac any payment received from insurance or benefit providers or any third party for air medical services provided by Trans Aero MedEvac. Trans Aero MedEvac is not an insurance company. A Trans Aero MedEvac Membership is not an insurance policy and cannot be considered as a secondary insurance coverage or a supplement to any insurance coverage. Trans Aero MedEvac will not be responsible for payment for services provided by another ambulance service.

4. Prior to an air medical transport being requested, it is the responsibility of the member, or a party close to the member, to inform the healthcare provider, dispatcher, or emergency personnel of their Trans Aero MedEvac membership. These personnel will not be aware of the member’s Trans Aero MedEvac affiliation and may request a different provider if not informed. Trans Aero MedEvac will provide materials to members indicating their status, which should be carried on their person in case of emergency. In addition, it is the member’s responsibility to contact Trans Aero MedEvac if a registered and eligible household dependent has been flown.

5. Trans Aero MedEvac memberships are valid for the period of one (1), three (3), or five (5) years beginning 24 hours after the completion of the registration form and nonrefundable payment, contingent upon all provided information and payment passing review and processing by the Trans Aero MedEvac office. Special consideration and waiver of this period may be given in the case of unforeseen events occurring during such time. A membership is applicable to the registrant, as well as up to five (5) additional registered household residents. Members must be natural U.S. Citizens. Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.

6. Some state laws prohibit Medicaid beneficiaries from being offered membership or being accepted into membership programs. By applying, members certify to Trans Aero MedEvac that they are not Medicaid beneficiaries.

7. Membership provides coverage for medically necessary air transports on Trans Aero MedEvac aircraft within the service area of any of its bases, and covers transport to the nearest appropriate facility within 200 miles for a rotor wing (helicopter) and 600 miles for a fixed wing (airplane). Coverage maps, as well as a list of bases, can be found on the Trans Aero MedEvac website.

8. Membership fees are charged on an annual basis. Members retain right of renewal each year, and may opt to automatically renew, or manually reapply at their own discretion. The member will be provided advanced notice of thirty (30) days by Trans Aero MedEvac of membership expiration. Failure to renew payment by the end of the membership period stipulated above will result in the termination of membership, and a lapse in coverage until payment is received. Annual payment may be collected in advance, so as not to cause a lapse of coverage, and will not affect the original coverage period dates. Annual membership fees charged by Trans Aero MedEvac are contingent upon certain factors, including the member’s healthcare insurance coverage.

9. Failure to comply with the Trans Aero MedEvac Terms and Conditions may result in the termination of membership. Trans Aero MedEvac reserves the right to discontinue its membership program at any time, and will be responsible for providing advanced notice to members. In this event, Trans Aero MedEvac shall return to the member a pro rata portion of the membership fee. Trans Aero MedEvac also reserves the right to unilaterally modify the Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to the amount charged to members who join or renew their membership after the effective date of a membership fee change.

10. These terms and conditions supersede any other writings, or verbal representations, between a member and Trans Aero MedEvac relating to the terms and conditions of membership.

As a member, you acknowledge that all information included in the completed membership application is correct to the best of your knowledge. In the event of any change to personal information, it is the responsibility of the member to notify Trans Aero MedEvac immediately. By approving and submitting your application for Trans Aero MedEvac membership, you agree to all of the Terms and Conditions set forth herein.
